Presented on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 for the SSE Dean’s Virtual Seminar Series: The Future of Systems, featuring Prof. Ye Yang on “Context-Aware In-Process Crowdworker Recommendation (ICSE 2020).”
In this talk, Prof. Yang will describe research that proposes an in-process worker recommendation solution that has the potential to improve the cost effectiveness of crowd testing by shortening the testing cycle. For this research, Prof. Yang and her collaborators were awarded the ACM Distinguished Paper Award at the 42nd International Conference in Software Engineering (ICSE) in 2020.
Dr. Yang is an associate professor at the School of Systems and Enterprises. She received her Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Southern California. Her research lies in the area of empirical software engineering including software process technologies, software crowdsourcing, cost estimation, defect prediction and technical debts. At Stevens, her recent work focuses on modeling, learning and recommending best practices to reduce the cost and improve the quality of software products around the crowdsourced software engineering paradigm.
The "SSE Dean’s Virtual Seminar Series: The Future of Systems" is presented by Dean Yehia Massoud and offers weekly lectures each Wednesday at noon for Stevens undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, administration and guests. At each session, SSE faculty present a 20-minute lecture, followed by a five-to-ten minute Q&A session.
The series has been created to keep students informed on the advances of faculty research, and the mission of the School of Systems and Enterprises as a leader in systems science and engineering. Each lecture will be recorded and made available on the School of Systems and Enterprises Kaltura channel for those who are unable to attend the live Zoom sessions.
